UPEA is seeking:

Civil Designer for an opening in the Houghton Office. Must be primarily focused on the design of municipal water and wastewater systems using Civil 3D. The successful candidate will take surveyors’ data and create base maps; create surfaces and edit them; create pipe networks; and water and sewer plans. The candidate must be able to use all of the parts of the corridor package to create road plans. A few of those parts are creating alignments, profiles, sections, and assemblies. The successful candidate will also be able to do grading and volume calculations. In addition the successful candidate will likely have five-plus years of experience and also be efficient with Word and Excel. Knowledge of GIS would be a plus.

Environmental Engineer, P.E. required. Skills required include: Michigan P.E. current or attainable, five or more years of experience managing various environmental projects, experience with Federal and State of Michigan environmental regulations is a plus, OSHA HAZWOPER Certified (preferred, not required). Required skills: Technical writing, Ability to talk with potential clients, bring in projects, supervise and direct other technical staff, dependable, ability to work on your own and with a team. Preferred technical skills and experience (various): knowledgeable of Regulatory Compliance reporting, Industrial Storm water permitting, Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasure, Storage Tanks (AST, UST), Solid Waste Reporting, property acquisition due diligence, Brownfield Redevelopment- 381 Plan, TIFA Plan, state and federal funding programs, Remedial Investigation /Feasibility Studies (RI/FS), Remedial Action Plans with soil and groundwater remediation experience, Michigan Type I & Type II water well construction  & permitting, hydrogeologic investigations, Aquifer Pump testing, Slug testing, groundwater exploration methods, Geologic Map interpretation, environmental sample collection and evaluation versus state and federal criteria, knowledge of environmental and geotechnical drilling and other investigation techniques, wetlands capabilities-delineation, mitigation, indoor air quality testing- mold, contaminants, Air Permit to Install familiarity. Other areas of knowledge & experience: Solid Waste management  & permitting, Solid Waste Hydrogeological Monitoring Plans, contaminated site investigation & closure.

Mechanical Engineer, P.E. required. Skills required include: the ability to create efficient HVAC designs including ductwork, piping and equipment sizing and selection; developing specifications, working drawings, and other related documents for commercial, governmental, residential, and institutional clients; performing design calculations and equipment selection and layout of HVAC systems and equipment such as heat, gas, hot water, chilled water, and central plants; performing heating and cooling load calculations utilizing standard industry software; communicating regularly with project managers and other members of the project team; performing construction administration; supervising or coordinating the work of designers and technicians.

 

Position in Iron Mountain Office

Civil Engineer: UPEA is seeking a civil engineer with one to seven years of experience for a position in our Iron Mountain office. Prefer an engineer with a transportation focus.

Surveyor: UPEA is seeking a licensed surveyor with approximately five years of experience and who has leadership potential. Michigan P.S. required & Wisconsin license preferred.

 

Position in Ishpeming Office

Civil Engineer: The position requires three to five years of experience in water and wastewater design. AutoCAD experience is a must.

 

Positions in Multiple Offices

Licensed Project Surveyor, P.S. required.  Two positions open: Ishpeming office and Iron Mountain office. Demonstrated project management skills required including managing multiple projects, directing a project team, and effectively working with clients and other consultants. AutoCAD Civil 3D software experience a plus.

Senior Civil Engineer, P.E. required.  USDA/RD experience in Wisconsin and Michigan a plus. Excellent opportunity for advancement.
